A technology-driven regulatory reporting data Fintech company 

Need

The client undertook a transformation program that would consolidate all its existing services, homegrown and M&A-acquired into a single portal to facilitate cross-selling and up-selling. This meant several streams of consolidating and simplifying existing services, as well as the implementation of augmented and new services as native applications in the portal. The client was approached by a potential customer to deliver a packaged offering that included existing services and the integration of a 3rd party regulatory calculation service. To win the bid the client needed to deliver a working prototype that meets the customer's requirements and showcase the client's ability to deliver the solution to the customer's timeline. With existing resources already spread thin across the program the client approached Knowledgeworks.

Solution 

2 Knowledgeworks frontend developers worked with 2 of the client's backend developers to spin up a sandbox for the PoC and created an event adapter in the messaging bus for the service integration with the 3rd party calculation service. The client's customer provides the source files which is sent to the calculation service that then generates events that are captured and pushed into a No-SQL db. The backend developers then created the APIs to power the frontend UI components. Frontend developers created the frontend components connected them to the backend APIs and developed the approval and rejection flows with minimal functionalities. The prototype was delivered in 6 weeks and presented to the customer.

Result 

  • The prototype was delivered within 6 weeks and showcased to the customer.

  • The outcome was positive with the customer happy to proceed with the bid with the client and productionise the prototype.

  • Other customers of the client expressed interest in integrated calculation service, leading to revenue growth.
