Client

Need
The client provides a variety of products and services as part of its core offerings, including many heterogeneous internal and 3rd party systems integrated services that for the spin of key offerings. The client needed to improve its testing process in one of its divisions, due to the high volume severity 1 & 2 defects discovered and the project closed in on the live date. After a blameless postmortem, it was agreed that the test process should be reviewed and improved on.
Solution
Knowledgeworks carried out an assessment and review of the current quality assurance process in agreement with key technology stakeholders. We diagnosed the current problem, established an improvement plan, and implemented the improvements working in tandem with the client's Head of Quality Assurance. The improvements entailed creating automation boilerplate templates to help expedite manual testing. The templates cut across functional, data, and non-functional testing and were adopted by all project teams tasked with the delivery.
Result
The boilerplate and improved quality assurance process resulted in:
-
Significant reduction in severity 1 and 2 defects
-
Derisked the go-live and product launch
